Research and development

Understanding what Jamaican genetics can do.

Our research programme sits alongside the farm rather than in place of it. We run open field trials, select and stabilise cultivars, characterise their chemistry and share that data with clinical and academic partners so prescribing decisions rest on evidence.

Programme

Four active workstreams.

Each workstream produces documentation that feeds directly into supply. Nothing is researched in isolation from the material we ship.

Landrace preservation

Collection, propagation and record keeping for heritage Jamaican genetics that have adapted to local soil and light over decades. Seed lines are maintained and catalogued rather than replaced with imported stock.

Cultivar selection

Phenotype trials across multiple field blocks, scored for yield, resin density, cannabinoid ratio, terpene profile and resilience to tropical pest and mould pressure.

Analytical characterisation

Potency, terpene and contaminant testing through accredited laboratories, building a chemical fingerprint per cultivar and per season rather than a single release figure.

Clinical collaboration

Partnerships in development with clinicians and research institutions on indication specific formats, dosing guidance and observational data collection in Caribbean patient populations.

Field trials

Trials run in the ground, not in a rig.

Because our production is soil based and open air, our trials are too. Plots are planted in the same conditions as commercial blocks, so results transfer directly to the next season rather than only holding under controlled conditions.

Chemistry

Data that clinicians can use.

A Certificate of Analysis proves a lot is safe. A cultivar dossier explains what it does. We build both, so prescribers can match a product to an indication instead of working from strain names.
